Fibre Composite Structures

Composite fibre is greatly stronger than steel or concrete therefore requires less material and significantly reduces installation time, it is also half the weight of timber and a quarter the weight of steel. The material is also totally resistant to white ants and termites and does not promote marine algae. Due to the minimal maintenance requirements, the whole of life cost are greatly less than that of traditional materials, and it is self extinguishing. Due to these properties the St Clair development decided to use composite fibre for the structure of boardwalks and view platforms throughout the wetlands, but still using timber decking to keep the natural look.
